Moonrise Over Canby
It’s freezing cold here in Canby, Oregon! We’re at our Son’s for New Years with the Grand Daughter. She wants a fondue party – so of course I must oblige!
We noticed today while we were out and about how gorgeous Mount Hood was in the distance and I wondered if we could catch the full moon rising over it. I checked for when Moon Rise was – 7:30ish pm . . . so off we went with the little one in the car to catch that beautiful Moon Rise.
And Beautiful it was! Unfortunately it was too dark to see Mount Hood. I’m guessing that catching Mount Hood at Sunrise would be best.
I did some long exposures. In one of them, a helicopter flew through the frame. In another, a car drove through on a 3 minute long exposure. It was freezing though – so we didn’t last too long out there.
Enjoy the shots!

Gorgeous
Thanks! It was pretty spectacular – I don’t think I’ve ever actually watched a Moonrise before! We used an App called Night Sky to figure out where the moon would come up . . .
That’s a good idea
I’ve never watched a moonrise. Plenty of Sunrises, but no moonrise
